The Team

  • The Nurse Unit Manager position is based at the Mersey Community Hospital and has clinical and management oversite of the 4 theatre complex (3 operational), PACU and DSU 
  • Works collaboratively and in partnership with the Regional Surgical and Perioperative Services (SAPS) 

The Role

The Nurse Unit Manager:

  • Provides leadership to the Operating Theatre and Day Surgery environment at the Mersey Community Hospital.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education, and nursing research functions within the Operating Theatre.
  • Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material, and financial resources for service delivery within the Operating Theatre.

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 14 September 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$134,109 to $140,384 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
