The Team

The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) at the Royal Hobart Hospital is a dynamic, fast‑paced environment that supports hospital-wide operations, staffing and patient flow. The team works collaboratively to provide efficient and effective administrative, recruitment and workforce support to ensure the smooth functioning of services across Hospitals South.

Working closely with Nurse Unit Managers (Staffing and Support) and a range of clinical, administrative and corporate stakeholders, the IOC team plays a key role in coordinating systems, processes and information that enable high-quality, safe and responsive care delivery. The team is committed to continuous improvement, innovation and maintaining strong working relationships across the organisation.

The Role

  • Provide high-level administrative and clerical support to the NUMs IOC Staffing and Support
  • Support recruitment activities, including coordinating documentation, timesheets and workforce records
  • Deliver administrative support across the broader RHH IOC as required
  • Prioritise workload, manage competing demands and respond to issues with practical solutions
  • Assist in improving administrative systems, processes and reporting
  • Work across key systems including recruitment, rostering and patient flow platforms
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative and corporate stakeholders
  • Provide flexible support across IOC functions in a fast-paced environment

You will need

  1. Ability to undertake administrative duties including efficient operation of keyboard and word processing equipment, office automation systems and possess understanding of payroll and human resource processes.
  2. High-level computer skills including the use of spreadsheets, word documents, recording and maintenance of staff rostering systems and patient flow software.
  3. High-level interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in a team environment subject to work pressures and change.
  4. Sound knowledge and experience of office management practice and the demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, comply with established timeframes and have the capacity to deal with several tasks concurrently.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Awards, Agreements, Employment Directions, Policies and Legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

Details of appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing in September 2026 for 6 months. 

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$76,849 to $82,996 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
