Job description:
The Director position is critical to the function of the Community Services branch. The ED leads the development and implementation of critical Tasmanian Government Policy, is responsible for building and supporting relationships with Community Sector Organisations including Peak Bodies and provides advice and support to the Minister, Executive and other government agencies. The position leads a team of approximately 25 staff who support portfolios including Neighbourhood Houses, Older Tasmanians, LGBTIQA+ Tasmanians, Volunteering Tasmania, Men's Sheds, Tasmanian Communities Fund, Food Resilience, Gambling Harm Minimisation, Multicultural Tasmanians, Carers, No Interest Loans Scheme and Social Services. The role is also a key member of the Community and Government Services leadership team, setting the strategic direction for the Group and identifying opportunities for integration and cross-branch program delivery with Service Tasmania and Digital Strategy and Services.
