Job description:

Provide assessment, treatment and intervention programs to inmates individually and in groups of offenders within the corrections system.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Based at Risdon Vale in FACILITY/BUILDING. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time). 

Duties

  • Co-facilitate the delivery of individual and group–based rehabilitation or intervention programs to offenders, which may include alcohol and drug treatment programs, the sex offender program and a range of general and violent offending programs under the supervision of a Senior Clinician.
  • Undertake assessments of offenders to determine their suitability for participation in programs and monitor progress as a result of such participation.
  • Maintain offender case notes, records and administrative information and prepare formal assessments and other reports in accordance with program standards.
  • Provide feedback and counselling to inmates who are undertaking programs under the supervision and direction of Senior Clinician.
  • Liaise with other IOM Unit staff and correctional case managers about inmate case management
  • Participate in ongoing professional development including training, clinical supervision and the reviewing and debriefing of program sessions.

Desirable Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution.
