Ward 5D is a 32-bed general medical, haematology and oncology ward located on Level 5 of the Launceston General Hospital. The Role
- Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.
- Practice in accordance with the NMBA codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.
- Contribute to the maintenance and promotion of a safe work environment
- In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluates patient/client care.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach
You will need

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and NMBA Registered Nurse standards for practice.

Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, from 04/11/2026 to 11/04/27.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type (RN)
