Job description:
The Senior Policy and Risk Officer role supports improvement across government schools by leading and coordinating the development, implementation and review of strategic policies, system-level projects and initiatives that strengthen teaching, learning, wellbeing and operational effectiveness. The position applies a strong risk lens to ensure that policy design and implementation appropriately address safety, legal, operational and equity risks for all schools and learners.
Working in a dynamic team, the occupant undertakes complex analysis, identifies system risks, prepares authoritative advice, and embeds risk mitigation strategies into policy and project design. The role contributes to improved outcomes for children and young people in DECYP schools through high-quality policy development, strategic problem-solving, and practical guidance that supports consistent, effective practice across the system.
