Job description:

Site Coordinator delivers client‑focused services, advises on policy and planning, and oversees site resources, maintenance, and service provider performance.

 

The Team

The team at the Department of Health Tasmania, based at Mersey Community Hospital, works collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred healthcare services within a dynamic hospital environment. Led and supported by the Site Coordinator, the team includes clinical and non-clinical staff who coordinate daily operations, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure the safe and efficient running of the hospital site.

Operating across multiple disciplines, the team emphasises strong communication, responsiveness, and problem-solving, particularly in managing bed capacity, supporting clinical decision-making, and facilitating timely patient care. The Site Coordinator plays a key leadership role, providing oversight, supporting staff, and acting as a central point of coordination between departments, emergency services, and external stakeholders.

Overall, the team is characterised by professionalism, adaptability, and a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes and maintaining service excellence within the Tasmanian public health system.

The Role

Provide effective and efficient client focused asset management services including the provision of policy, process
and planning advice on the management and maintenance of nominated Departmental sites and associated
infrastructure.

Manage the human, financial and physical resources at the nominated Departmental sites, in collaboration with the Regional Manager, including monitoring the quality and standard of work undertaken by both internal and external service providers.

You will need:

  • Participate in the development of external procurement, project and contract management for sites and associated infrastructure related issues, including a range of services such as scheduling and quality control of regular maintenance works.
  • Ensure that nominated assets are maintained in accordance with all applicable Statutory and Legislative requirements.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

  • Participation in the Facilities and Engineering Oncall Roster is required
  • Intrastate travel is required as the occupant will work across various sites as directed by the Regional Manager
