Job description:
The position supports the Community Protection Offender Registrar in the administration of the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2005 (CPOR Act) including monitoring and compliance of reportable offenders. Under Schedules 1, 2 and 3 of the CPOR Act a ‘reportable offender’ is subject to a court order under their sentence in relation to a range of crimes including those relating to child exploitation material and sex crimes against adults and children.
Additionally, the position supports intelligence and administrative activities related to child exploitation related crimes including online child abuse and grooming offences. All reportable offenders are subject to the same reporting obligations and additionally some reportable offenders are also subject to Community Protection Orders that prohibit or restrict their movements.
