Job description:
The Coordinator for Reportable Offender Management (the Coordinator hereinafter) is responsible for effectively monitoring and managing the interactions with "Reportable" offenders and police, ensuring compliance with the Community Protection Offender Reporting Act 2005 (the Act). This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
The Coordinator, in close collaboration with the Community Protection Offender Registrar (Detective Inspector) contributes to the Reportable Offender Child Exploitation Division's objectives by providing crucial support in the realms of administration, coordination, compliance and monitoring activities. This support is instrumental in preventing recidivism and reducing sexual harm within the Tasmanian community.

Essential Requirements
Pre-Employment Checks
The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:
- Arson and fire setting;
- Sexual offences;
- Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
- Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
- Making false declarations;
- Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
- Malicious damage and destruction to property
- Trafficking of narcotic substance;
- False alarm raising.
Desirable Requirements
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of the criminal justice system and offender management protocols,
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
- Well-developed time management and personal organisational skills with a specific ability to establish priorities and commitments and meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining quality standards and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in data management and record-keeping.
- Knowledge and experience with the primary function of the Child Protection Offender Registry and of the Child Protection (Offender Reporting and Registration) Act.
