Job description:
The purpose of the role is to provide technical training and mentorship to our statewide team of operational handlers and dogs, oversee the fleet of dogs and kennel facilities, and contribute to the ongoing development of unit policies, procedures, and learning resources.
The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining contemporary, efficient and high-quality systems and processes related to the detection and prevention of biosecurity risks using detector dogs to protect Tasmanian agriculture, environment, and way of life. The occupant of this position will be required to be an authorised officer under the Biosecurity Act 2019.
