Job description:

The Mersey Community Hospital are seeking motivated applicants for their Assistant in Nursing vacancy

The role:

  • In accordance with Agency policy, legal requirements and the attached Assistant in Nursing/Assistant in Midwifery - Workplace Guidelines, the Assistant in Nursing/Midwifery (AIN/AIM) provides nursing care as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN), and within the direction and supervision of the RN or Enrolled Nurse (EN), in accordance with the nursing care plan.
  • This role may vary slightly depending on the area in which the AIN/AIM works.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, casual, shift-worker position working as and when required, commencing from as soon as possible for a twelve month period

Salary: $63,092 - $68,940 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Certificate in Health Services Assistance (Acute Care); or
  2. Certificate in Individual Support (Ageing Specialisation); or

  3. Is currently an undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing student who has completed their first year clinical practice placement; or

  4. A current Diploma of Nursing student who has completed their first clinical practice placement

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  1. Current First Aid Certificate

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
