The Team

The Workforce Strategy and Planning Unit (WSPU) provides statewide leadership in cross‑sectoral health workforce strategy, policy and planning, to build a sustainable, skilled and future‑ready workforce for Tasmania. The Unit delivers integrated, evidence‑based workforce planning aligned with service and infrastructure planning, leads implementation and monitoring of the Health Workforce Sustainability Strategy and Plan, and ensures alignment with national workforce reforms and priorities.

The Medical Workforce Policy and Strategy Unit (MWPSU) is a functional stream of the WSPU, providing dedicated leadership in medical workforce policy, strategy, education and training coordination, and medical staffing frameworks to support statewide consistency and sustainable medical workforce supply.

The Role

The System Administrator, Clinical Learning Australia (CLA) provides specialist operational and technical support for the CLA e‑portfolio and related clinical information systems, ensuring the accurate, secure and compliant management of medical training and assessment data.

The role is responsible for system administration, data quality and reporting, and works closely with medical education and workforce stakeholders to enable effective use of the CLA e‑portfolio and compliance with the Clinical Learning and Assessment framework. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the position contributes to governance, compliance, and continuous system improvement while maintaining strong standards of information privacy, security and integrity.

You will need

  • Experience with the Clinical Learning Australia (CLA) system or a comparable platform, along with an understanding of health information management principles, including privacy, confidentiality and data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience in system administration or application support within a complex environment, including user access management, system configuration and maintaining data quality.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate reports and data extracts to support monitoring, audit and compliance activities.
  • Strong organisational, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, troubleshoot system issues, and provide guidance and training to a diverse user base.

Details of appointment

fixed term part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.

Salary

$102,027 to $106,985 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
