Our Radiation Therapists are a key component of the multidisciplinary team who guide patients through their treatment journey. The Northern Cancer Service is focused on the patient receiving excellent contemporary care. The service is staffed with 6 Radiation Oncologists and uses Varian products from planning to treatment. The service has two External Beam Radiotherapy locations and also provides the Statewide Brachytherapy service. These Senior Radiation Therapist positions are located in Launceston within a large well networked public hospital.

The Role
The primary purpose of the Senior Radiation Therapist role is to act as a Team Leader for a radiation therapy treatment unit or treatment planning section, ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of radiation therapy services.
The position applies advanced clinical knowledge and skills to resolve complex treatment planning and delivery issues while maintaining professional standards, protocols, and patient care outcomes.
The role also provides leadership, supervision, education, and support to radiation therapy staff and students, contributing to service quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full-time, day worker (with on-call) positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will be part of an on-call roster.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant/s.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, fixed term and casual vacancies.
Salary
$139,014 to $145,653 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Agreement (Radiation Therapist Agreement 2022).
Salary Packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Radiation Therapist
- A market allowance of 10% of the base salary is applicable to this role.

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
- Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
