The Team:

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) Statewide Team works with relevant stakeholders to drive and monitor delivery of the recommendations of the Statewide Mental Health Services CAMHS Review and Commission of Inquiry. Medicare Mental Health (MMH) Kids Hub is a joint Commonwealth-state initiative aimed at establishing a secondary level, early intervention mental health program for children 0-12 years, and their families.  MMH Kids Hubs is operationally and clinically managed by CYMHS.

This is an opportunity to be an integral member of the CYMHS Statewide Team and support the growth and integration of the innovative and collaborative MMH Kids Hub services in Tasmania.

The Role:

  • Provide leadership in the planning, development and implementation of the recommendations related to Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) review.
  • Assist with service mapping and scoping to support the development and integration of infant, child and family mental health services in Tasmania
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders to identify and monitor consumer outcomes and an evaluation framework
  • Collaborate with the broader SMHS Reform team and other SMHS project managers to ensure that the delivery of strategic reform programs is consistent and integrated across SMHS.

You will need:

  • Significant experience in developing and implementing change management programs and/or experience working at a strategic level implementing modern and contemporary practices within a best practice framework.
  • Proven liaison and consultation experience and the ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development and implementation of an integrated outcomes-focused project.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, decision making, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, and ability to foster support for change across a diverse employee base, with the proven capacity to motivate, develop and support staff through a positive change management process.
  • Developing networks and partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to foster positive change management and engagement.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:

$132,460 to $139,392 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
