The Team
The Cardiology Research Clinical Trials Team is a highly collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team based within the Royal Hobart Hospital Cardiology Service. The team works closely with Cardiologists, Research Nurses, Clinical Trial Coordinators, patients, sponsors, and external research partners to deliver local, national, and international clinical trials. The Role
The Cardiology Research Department/Clinical Trials is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our dedicated research team. In this role, you will coordinate and support a broad range of cardiology clinical trials and research projects, contributing to advancements in cardiovascular care and improved patient outcomes. Working under the guidance of Principal Investigators, you will identify and recruit eligible participants, coordinate study visits, collect and manage clinical and research data, maintain study records and databases, and ensure research activities are conducted in accordance with study protocols, ethical requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory standards. This is a unique opportunity to combine advanced clinical knowledge with research practice while contributing to innovative therapies and evidence-based healthcare.
You will need
- Current knowledge of, and the demonstrated ability to apply, nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical competence, relevant experience in clinical research activities including documentation and data collection skills and ability to apply the principles of nursing care to the research project activities.
- Knowledge of the legal requirements, relevant policies and procedures in relation to research and the practice setting.

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker position, working 44 hours per fortnight, from the 2nd of November 2026
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
