The Team
The Pathway to Excellence North team works within the office of the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery to drive professional nursing and midwifery practice. The team strives to promote excellence in practice through implementation of numerous nursing and midwifery projects, in line with contemporary clinical governance, workforce wellbeing and practice innovation.
The Role
The project nurse works autonomously to manage individual nursing and midwifery projects across all areas of nursing/midwifery practice. Scope of work ranges from supporting implementation of projects at unit level, to largescale whole of organisation initiatives.
You will need
- Demonstrated contemporary knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to, the discipline of nursing, including nursing practice, research, and health information principles.
- Broad and demonstrated understanding of the current healthcare system, together with demonstrated knowledge of national and international trends relating to nursing and midwifery, workforce development and service delivery.
- Well-developed understanding of clinical governance systems that underpin the development of improvement initiatives to achieve standards and enhanced patient/client outcomes.

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, from 24 October 2026
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
