Help bring Tasmania's history to life at two of its most iconic heritage destinations.

The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) is seeking enthusiastic, engaging, and customer-focused individuals to join our Tourism Operations team as Tour Guides at:

  • PAHS Tour Guide – Port Arthur Historic Site
  • CFF Tour Guide – Cascades Female Factory

These casual opportunities offer the chance to work in unique World Heritage-listed environments, sharing Tasmania's rich history and stories with visitors from around Australia and the world.

Please note that there are two separate roles offered for the two different locations, but applicants will only be recruited for ether PAHS or CFF. It is important that as part of your application you nominate if you are willing and able to work in either location, also what your preference would be.  

About the Roles

PAHS Tour Guide – Port Arthur Historic Site

Lead informative and engaging guided tours throughout the Port Arthur Historic Site, delivering memorable visitor experiences through storytelling, historical interpretation, and exceptional customer service. Tour Guides assist visitors in understanding the significance of the site while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

CFF Tour Guide – Cascades Female Factory

Deliver guided tours and interpretive experiences that bring to life the stories of the women and children connected to the Cascades Female Factory. Tour Guides provide engaging historical insights, answer visitor questions, and contribute to an exceptional visitor experience in a culturally significant heritage setting. CFF Tour Guides also undertake customer service to process ticketing and retail sales during a shift.

We're seeking candidates who:

  • Have excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Enjoy engaging with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Have a passion for history, heritage, culture, or tourism
  • Are reliable, professional, and adaptable
  • Can work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Have experience in tourism, interpretation, education, customer service, or a related field (desirable)
