Details of Appointment
Permanent Full-time.
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Benefits
Salary of $112,990 – $127,715 pa. Starting salary negotiable within range subject to experience in a similar role. Annual salary increase within this range in accordance with the Tasmanian State Service Award and Public Service Union Wages Agreement.

Working Environment
Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale.
The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).
Duties
- Lead the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of education and training services across all TPS facilities.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with TasTAFE, other Registered Training Organisations, industry, rehabilitation services and employment providers.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to Education and Training Services staff, fostering professional development, capability, accountability, and collaboration.
- Ensure education and training services are aligned with TPS strategic objectives, operational requirements, and workforce and industry needs.
- Oversee governance, performance monitoring, reporting, and compliance related to education and training delivery.
- Work collaboratively with custodial operations, industries, and rehabilitation and reintegration functions to embed education and training as a core reintegration pathway.
- Manage resources, risks, and change activities to support sustainable service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Provide oversight of processes to enable safe practices in line with current policy and procedures including Workplace Health and Safety legislation.

Desirable Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce and or education or a related discipline.
