Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Manage, coordinate and oversight significant legal and policy projects, and support the Director in managing the Department of Justice’s response to the Commission of Inquiry and related or similar reviews and reforms.
  • Where appropriate, support the work of relevant independent reviews arising from the Commission of Inquiry, or related matters.
  • To provide comprehensive, accurate and timely advice to the Department of Justice and other Tasmanian Government Agencies in respect of policy and legal issues arising from, and the recommendations of, the Commission of Inquiry report.
  • To provide strategic leadership and direction in planning, development, implementation, management and delivery of recommendations resulting from the Commission of Inquiry, including coordinating input from other agencies and supervising the work of others as required.
  • To liaise with other Agencies, and with internal Outputs to support the delivery of legislative, policy and project reforms.
  • To liaise, as required, with the Office of the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice on matters related to, and arising from, the Commission of Inquiry and the Department of Justice’s response to its work and recommendations.
  • Prepare high level documents for the Director, Secretary, Attorney-General, Minister for Justice and the Secretary including correspondence, Minutes, Cabinet Minutes and Issues Briefings.
  • The position will undertake any other duties as requested by the Director or Secretary.
