The Team

  • Join a small, supportive team of Clinical Nurse Educators providing education support across eight district hospitals and a range of primary health services throughout the North.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing leaders, managers and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen workforce capability and enhance patient care.

Role

  • Lead and support the development, delivery and evaluation of education programs across district hospitals and primary health services. 
  • Partner with managers and clinical teams to build workforce capability, support professional development and promote evidence-based practice.
  • Act as a visible clinical leader and role model, demonstrating the Department of Health's CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence in all aspects of your work and helping to foster a positive learning culture and continuous improvement across services.

You will need 

  • Demonstrated clinical experience, with a passion for education, mentoring and supporting staff development.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and locations.
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, education principles and quality improvement.

Details of appointment

  • Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 56 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join us.
  • Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 72 hours per fortnight, commencing 31 August 2026 until 17 July 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Current Driver’s Licence
