The Team
The Outpatient Departments across the Northwest supports multiple specialities. We offer general medical, surgical, gynaecology, orthopaedic, respiratory, paediatric, stomal therapy, cardiology, cardiac rehab, neurology, neurosurgical, dermatology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, nephrology, staff health and various procedure clinics and nurse led clinics.
The team consists of administrative staff, nursing (EN and RN), graduate nurses, CNCs, Nurse Practitioner, and technicians. The environment is fast paced, ever changing and requires excellent time management skills on all levels.
The Role
In this role you will work as part of the Paediatric Outpatients Clinic team. The position will be supporting clinics at the Northwest Regional Hospital and the Mersey Community Hospital, and you will be expected to work across both hospital sites.
You will be pivotal in creating and shaping this new position to support and provide the best practice care to the children and young people of the northwest requiring neurodevelopmental support and assessment.
You will build an excellent rapport working closely with our Paediatricians and our primary care colleagues as you develop pathways and protocols relevant to paediatric neurodevelopmental nursing care.

Details of appointment
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2028.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
- Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications, or working towards this, in a relevant area
- Experience in paediatrics and/or relevant clinical setting
- Current Driver’s Licence
