The Launceston Community Nursing Service, part of Primary Health North, is a dynamic and collaborative service delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in Northern Tasmania. Our team provides comprehensive nursing services in clients’ homes throughout Launceston and surrounding areas, as well as through our nurse-led Community Nursing Clinic.
Operating within a primary health care framework, LCNS is dedicated to supporting independence, enhancing wellbeing, and minimising avoidable hospital presentations and admissions. As part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary environment, the service delivers a broad and complex scope of care including wound management, continence and catheter care, post-acute and post-operative care, CVAD and TiVAD management, elastomeric device drug therapy administration, and palliative and end-of-life care in collaboration with specialist services. We are committed to wellness, reablement, and trauma-informed care, ensuring respectful, holistic, and evidence-based support tailored to everyone.
The Role

Provide clinical leadership and coordination for the Launceston Community Nursing team, supporting safe, efficient, person-centred care and providing expert clinical oversight for complex clients.

Monitor clinical workloads, competencies, risks and care outcomes, while supporting the implementation of policies, standards, legislation and evidence-based practice within a multidisciplinary community setting.

Lead and support the professional development of nursing staff through clinical supervision, mentoring and education, and contribute to quality improvement, clinical risk management, service development and research initiatives.
You will need
-
Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA, with demonstrated experience in community nursing and advanced clinical assessment, care coordination and management of complex clients.

Demonstrated clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and multidisciplinary collaboration skills, with the ability to support staff development and promote evidence-based practice.

Strong clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and contribute effectively to service development and safe, high-quality client care.

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
