The Team
System Management and Reform (SMR) is a division within the Department of Health. SMR performs the core system management functions of planning, purchasing and monitoring of health services on behalf of DoH . This is complemented by the provision of strategic policy and intergovernmental advice to the Minister for Health and Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing to help ensure the interests of the DoH and broader Tasmania community are appropriately represented at state and national levels. SMR also has responsibility for supporting our community and service sector and is responsible for the Family Violence Counselling and Support Service, supporting the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission and undertaking a range of functions in the disability and ageing services sectors.
The Role
You will need
- Experience providing administrative or executive support in a busy and fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond flexibly to changing demands.
- Proficiency in contemporary office software and information systems, including experience with finance, HR or records management processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately maintain records and perform data entry while handling confidential information.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to professionalism, accountability, respect and excellence in the workplace.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$76,849 to $82,996 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
