Job description:
To lead the Department’s work programs in the areas of security policy and whole of government protective security capability. This includes collaborating with key stakeholders including the Australian Government, Tasmanian Government agencies, local government and critical infrastructure operators to deliver policies, programs and projects aligned to Tasmanian Government strategic security priorities.
To provide expert advice to the Executive Director, senior executive and the Premier and Cabinet on all aspects of security, including national and protective security. To lead the implementation of Tasmania’s Protective Security Policy Framework and manage the delivery of critical whole of government security capabilities.
To manage interjurisdictional and interagency relationships, and to manage the financial and human resources of the business unit to deliver initiatives, programs and projects.
To support the delivery of the business unit’s security and emergency management responsibilities, including the statutory obligations of the Executive Director and senior executive.
