
The Team:
The Team within the Department of Health Tasmania operates as a collaborative and service‑focused group that supports the effective delivery of health services across the organisation. As a Support Services Officer, the team provides essential administrative, coordination, and operational support to ensure smooth day‑to‑day functions. Team members work closely with clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders, demonstrating flexibility, accuracy, and responsiveness in a fast‑paced environment. The Role:
As a member of the Royal Hobart Hospital’s Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) operational support team, the Support Services Officer (SSO):
- Provides support services to ensure the effective and efficient operation of DCCM.
- Contributes to and participates as a member of the health team.
- Decontaminates, sterilises and maintains specialised equipment
- Assists with the manual handling of patients.
You will need to:
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the cleanliness of equipment and the environment according to infection control principles, standards and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor equipment and stores levels and initiate appropriate action.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to work within manual handling guidelines and appropriate Work Health and Safety Legislation and codes of practice when positioning patients.

Details of appointment:
Two permanent part time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.
- One permanent part time shift worker position working 63.84 hours per fortnight
- One permanent part time shift worker position working 30.16 hours per fortnight.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Position Features:
- Fully rotational shift work
Salary: $63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
