Job description:
Within a safety and quality framework and in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Director of Nursing - West Coast (DON), provide clinical leadership and support to the health care team by coordinating the provision of quality nursing and support services to inpatients, emergency presentations, and aged care residents. This includes taking a lead role in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of quality assurance mechanisms that underpin a quality improvement program which is consistent with service delivery plans and priorities.
In consultation with the NUM proactively direct, lead and participate in the development of an education and research culture. Support the NUM in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical practice standards, including monitoring clinical competences of the health care team and as required individual team members.
As a senior member of the health care team, support the NUM in a broad range of administrative, service delivery and business planning issues relating to the provision of acute, emergency and aged care services, including but not limited to ACFI funding, accreditation, continuous quality improvement and leisure and lifestyle coordination.
