Job description:

Provide leadership and coordination in assigned area of prisoner intervention and reintegration including instruction, assessment, case management and treatment using evidence-based practices.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Take responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of day to day coordination and implementation of an assigned area of prisoner intervention and reintegration, its delivery and associated report writing, assessments and quality assurance. 
  • Provide leadership, daily work instruction, clinical direction, and guidance to staff in a specific discipline or area of expertise.
  • Oversee assessments of offenders to determine their suitability for case management and program interventions and monitor progress as a result of such participation.
  • Provide interventions to prisoners with complex needs, including assessments, record keeping and reports. 
  • Liaise with broader TPS staff, including correctional staff, therapeutic services, education and health and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide training and development for Correctional staff, and for other organisations when requested.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree of at least three years duration relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken is required, as provided by a recognised university.

  1. Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.
  3. Identification check.
