Duties
- Identify, analyse, assess and make recommendations on proposals and initiatives aligned with the strategic security priorities of the Premier and the Tasmanian Government.
- Lead and manage staff and financial resources to develop, implement and evaluate policies, programs, projects and initiatives in accordance with the Premier’s and the Government’s strategic security priorities. Undertake the day- to- day management of staff including professional development and performance management.
- Support Tasmanian Government agencies and other organisations to implement and comply with Tasmania’s Protective Security Policy Framework, and manage the business unit’s oversight and reporting functions under that Framework.
- Develop, implement and evaluate policies and initiatives that progress the Premier’s and the Government’s strategic priorities across all areas of national and protective security.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate at chief executive and senior management levels with other Agencies (both State and Federal), local government, industry and community organisations, as required.
- Represent the business unit, the Division, the Department and/or the Tasmanian Government in intergovernmental and public forums.
- The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
Essential Requirements
Security clearance to minimum Negative Vetting 1 level or ability to acquire.
Desirable Requirements
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or research experience to a similar level.
