Job description:

Exciting opportunity for a Nursing Director - Care@Home to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

Care@home is a state-wide interdisciplinary service that remotely supports patients, to better self-manage their illnesses and chronic conditions in their own home using virtual care technologies, improving patient health outcomes, and reducing potentially preventable hospital admissions.

This virtual care service has been established as a state-wide navigation hub, that provides a single point of access for home and community-based care; making it easier for both consumers and clinicians to identify what care pathways are available to support people in their preferred environment.

The Role:

The Nursing Director will:

  • Provide a high level of nursing leadership and direction, ensuring resources are efficiently utilised, services are effectively integrated within the service, and the highest standards of service delivery are achieved in accordance with hospital/service policy directions, service standards, and financial targets.
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead to manage the activities of Care@home in accordance with service policy and administrative instructions as varied from time to time.
  • Respect and develop the professional expertise and specialist knowledge of clinical staff members of Care@home.
  • Provide the Executive Director of Service (EDOS) with high-quality and authoritative advice and support.

You will need:

  1. Demonstrated ability to provide contemporary nursing/health services leadership in a complex and rapidly changing environment, with knowledge of national and state pandemic-related health issues and reform agendas.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the analysis of care delivery systems and processes, including the development of strategy, planning, implementation, and evaluation of reform initiatives within health care environments.
  3. Proven high-level professional leadership skills, with ability to demonstrate and impart vision and a contemporary approach to program and change management, achieving effective change in clinical practice environments.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $138,478 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

  • Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications

  • Current Driver’s Licence
