An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Clinical Coordinator to join the Department of Health.

Job Description:

The Clinical Coordinator - Repatriation Centre will:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the clinical care provided by nursing staff within the Peacock Building. 
  • In conjunction with medical, nursing, and allied health staff, provides after-hours and site-specific leadership and clinical support to Peacock Building staff.
  • Support the efficient and effective provision of patient care by coordinating clinical care and providing oversight of the same.

The Role:

  • Effectively coordinate services, as required, to ensure safe care across the Repatriation Centre, Peacock Building.
  • Liaise with internal staff including oncall medical staff, Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) staff and other organisations such as Ambulance Tasmania and Tasmania Police to manage any after-hours clinical deterioration or change in condition.
  • Provide a high level of knowledge and skill relating to the care of site-specific specialties and act as a clinical resource for nursing staff working at the Repatriation Centre, Peacock Building.
  • In conjunction with medical staff and Nurse Unit Managers, effectively manage patient flow at the Repatriation Centre, Peacock Building while providing care that is safe and appropriate for both patients and staff.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
