The Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania's second largest hospital with a busy elective and emergency service utilising 9 main Operating Theatres. The LGH works closely with the University of Tasmania and is a major clinical teaching and research centre. All our services work closely together to deliver excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce and the Tasmanian community guided by our CARE values.
The Role
- Within the established guidelines and procedures, provide an efficient and effective support service to the Operating Room Suite (ORS).
You will need
- The Theatre Support Officer works as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team to provide safe patient care, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
- The LGH has 9 Operating Theatres and provides a 24/7 emergency service to the community.
- The successful applicants will be provided with onsite training at fulltime hours for a minimum of 3 months.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, casual, shift worker position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$70,033 to $75,114 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Technician Specialisation)
- Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support
