The Team

The Community Outreach Physiotherapy Team is a smaller team that sits within the broader Physiotherapy Team of the North West Area Health service of the THS.  This role will predominantly supports clients of the North West community within their homes or at times, in one of our Outpatient settings.

You will be part of the broader MDT team including other Allied Health Disciplines, community nursing and Specialist Palliative Care services that also works with our other Physiotherapy colleagues in the acute and outpatient settings.

The Role

  • This position is based in Burnie at the North West Regional Hospital.
  • To promote, provide and maintain optimal specialist physiotherapy care to outreach/community-based clients across the North West Region of Tasmania, including follow up post discharge ‘at risk’ clients.
  • Provide a consultancy and advisory service in addition to “hands on” physiotherapy.
  • Service provision is provided in homes or may be centre-based throughout the THS-North West Region.

You will need

  • Experience in Physiotherapy broadly and ability to time manage juggling direct client care, case co-ordination and travel to home-based clients of NW Community.
  • High level interpersonal skills to communicate with broader community NGO’s, MDT Teams, colleagues and clients and their families/care providers.

Details of appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working up to 68.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from 31 August 2026 until 5 February 2027.

Salary

$117,272 to $126,182 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
