The Team:
The Role:
The Rostering Services Support Officer, as part of a Roster Support Unit within the Department of Health, provides high-level administrative and operational support to facilitate effective workforce rostering across clinical and non-clinical services.
The position is responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant rosters, coordinating day-to-day workforce requirements, and responding to unplanned staffing changes in accordance with relevant industrial agreements, organisational policies, and operational priorities.
Working collaboratively with managers, clinical teams, and support services, the role ensures timely communication of staffing updates, supports the allocation of workforce resources, and contributes to maintaining safe staffing levels across services.
Through effective roster coordination and responsive support, the Rostering Services Support Officer plays a key role in supporting continuity of care and enabling the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the Tasmanian community.
You will need:
- Current knowledge and experience in electronic rostering and payroll processing, personnel functions and legislative provisions including Awards/Agreements, policies and procedures within the Agency, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- High-level computer skills including the ability to undertake research of statistical data, recording and maintenance of database information systems and report production in a timely and efficient manner.
- High-level interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in a team environment subject to work pressures and change, including having the capacity to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:
$76,849 to $82,996 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Plus 25% Casual Loading - Equivalent of $48.42 to $52.30 per hour.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
