The Team
The Rapid Assessment Medical Unit (RAMU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital is a medical short-stay (up to 72 hours) inpatient unit. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including a Consultant-led Medical home team, a Nursing team with specialist support from the General Medical Clinical Nurse Consultant, senior Allied Health professionals, and other services or supports as required.
The Role
You will need:
- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards.
- Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to nine (9) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$102,439 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.

Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.

Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
