  • Deliver client-focused human resources advice and consultancy including coaching managers and employees on HR processes, awards, standards, policies and contemporary practice
  • Provide subject matter expertise on recruitment policy, responding to complex recruitment and selection queries and undertaking job evaluation and workforce planning activities.
  • Provide high level support and strategic advice on Treasury’s youth programs
  • Undertake strategic workforce initiatives, policy development activities and projects that support the Corporate Direction.
  • Use workforce data, reporting and feedback to inform decision making, improve programs and services and identify opportunities to strengthen HR processes, service delivery and employee experience.

About You

Treasury is looking for a Principal Human Resources Officer to join our Human Resources Branch. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, provide practical advice on workforce matters and contribute to strategic projects that support Treasury’s people priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on workforce management, recruitment and selection and the delivery of youth employment programs. Working closely with stakeholders, you will provide trusted advice on people matters, employee relations, workforce planning and policy development, while helping to shape strategic workforce initiatives that enhance capability, diversity and inclusion, and employee experience.

You will demonstrate leadership within HR functions by guiding, coaching and mentoring others to build capability, drive performance and achieve successful outcomes.

This role suits someone who has experience in a generalist HR role, knowledge of contemporary HR practice and the ability to communicate effectively.

About the Branch

The Human Resources Branch develops and embeds contemporary people and culture practices and provides payroll and recruitment services for Treasury. HR provides high-level consultancy advice on complex strategic HR issues and partners with stakeholders to deliver a responsive, high quality and seamless service.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.
