Home Care South is a dynamic and client-focused team within the Department of Health (Tasmania), dedicated to delivering high-quality in-home support services across Southern Tasmania. The Role
Are you a practical, reliable person who enjoys making a positive difference in people's lives? Join Home Care South and help support clients to live safely and independently in their own homes across Southern Tasmania.
As a Home Maintenance Officer, you will provide home maintenance and minor modification services for clients, undertake equipment deliveries and collections, maintain records, and work closely with clients, colleagues, and community services to deliver high-quality support.
You will need
- Experience carrying out general home maintenance and minor modification work.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, manual handling principles, and the safe use of equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
- A compassionate and respectful approach when working with older people, people with disability, and their carers.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain accurate records.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 56.88 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$65,827 to $68,854 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

- Positions are located at St Johns Park and other community health centres in the southern area. See position advertisement for specific location
- The Home Maintenance Officers are regularly required to travel across Southern Tasmania.
