The Team
Launceston General Hospital is the major referral hospital for Northern Tasmanian and is located in the heart of Launceston, providing a comprehensive range of acute, sub-acute, outpatient and specialist services to communities across Northern Tasmania and beyond.
Allied Health Services at Launceston General Hospital play a critical role in delivering person-centred, evidence-based care across inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation and community settings. Our multidisciplinary workforce collaborates closely with medical, nursing and support services to optimise patient outcomes, promote independence, and support recovery and wellbeing.

The Role
- Works closely with the Executive Director of Allied Health, providing support to members of the Allied Health Leadership Team, and engaging with up to ten diverse multidisciplinary allied health professional groups.
- Provides high-level sensitive and confidential executive and administrative support to the Executive Director of Allied Health Services, ensuring the smooth operation of the office.
- Manages complex calendars, meetings, correspondence, documentation, and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Coordinate administrative processes relating to student placements, cost recovery activities, and sale of goods arrangements.
- Provide office management services including minute/note taking, preparation of correspondence, document production and storage, organisation and scheduling of meetings and other appointments.
- Support the efficient and effective flow of information coming in and out of the office and to key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with internal staff and external stakeholders in the collection and compilation of statistical information and the preparation of activity reports and other quality improvement data for the Allied Health Management Team, aiding in the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery objectives.
- Support the Executive Director in undertaking a range of HR processes including timesheet compilation, leave requests, contracts and recruitment related processes, and a range of high-level communications relating to complaints and Ministerial enquiries.
You will need
- Demonstrated experience providing executive, administrative, or office management support in a busy environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A flexible, adaptable, and collaborative approach, combined with sound judgement and discretion.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$76,849 to $82,996 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025.
