The Rehabilitation Services Unit at Mersey Community Hospital is a dedicated 12-bed sub-acute facility committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation care to patients across the North-West region.

Our highly skilled and knowledgeable multidisciplinary team is dedicated to enhancing patients' functional and cognitive abilities, promoting independence, and improving quality of life following injury or illness. We utilise an individualised, patient-centred approach that focuses on achieving goals and outcomes collaboratively identified by patients, their families, and the rehabilitation team.

The Role

As an Enrolled Nurse within our Rehabilitation Unit, you will:

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex rehabilitation needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
• Provide education, support, and guidance to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation journey.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and opportunities to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

You will need

• A minimum of 12 months experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing 4 October 2026 until 20 November 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines).
