The Team

 

Smithton District Hospital (SDH) and Community Health Centre is a small sub-acute public hospital situated in Smithton, Tasmania, serving the entire Circular Head region with a catchment population of 8,000. The hospital features 12 subacute beds dedicated to general medicine, post-acute care, palliative care, and end-of-life services. Additionally, SDH includes a 3-bay emergency first response unit staffed by nurses and General Practitioners who provide on-call medical services. 

Smithton Community Services provide community nursing, personal and home care to clients within the Circular Head region

The Role:

The Smithton District Hospital are seeking a motivated Maintenance Officer to join their team. 

To Provide:

  • Provision of a safe and efficient patient transfer, delivery of equipment and local regional courier service for Smithton District Hospital and Community Services
  • Provision of effective and efficient non-trade maintenance as per schedule across the Smithton District Hospital site and coordinate with contractors visiting the site.
  • Site vehicle cleanliness/maintenance as per schedule.

 

You will need

  • Current Driver's licence
  • First Aid Certificate (desired)
  • Complete pre- employment checks on successful recruitment

Details of appointment

Permanent, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, as soon as possible commencement.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$65,827 to $68,854 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Operational Health Officer, Level 2

Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
