The Role
- Coordinate, direct, and control including day to day supervision and support, in the application of the regional Patient Travel Assistance Scheme (PTAS) service, ensuring service provision is maintained to a high standard in line with state and community expectations.
- Apply highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage members of the public to manage and provide advice in complex and multi-faceted negotiations, including application of initiative and judgement in complaint management and dispute resolution.
- Provide advice and support to PTAS operational staff in pursuit of establishing eligibility of patients for PTAS assistance, through interpretation, analysis, and application of the PTAS Operational Protocol, including negotiation and problem solving as required through interpretation of appropriate frameworks.
You will need
- Possession of, or the ability to quickly acquire, a detailed knowledge of PTAS and hospital policies and procedures, as they relate to patient travel and accommodation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and support to staff, together with the ability to monitor the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of service provision.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and service providers, including the ability to articulate complex multi-faceted matters.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
