The Team

The outpatient team deliver compassionate, expert care to patients presenting for specialist clinic appointments, in a newly refurbished environment. The Role

  • Functions as an advanced clinical practitioner within Stomal Therapy and wound care services providing direct care, advisory, support and educational services within the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), and as required, to external health care providers.
  • The role will provide expert clinical advice and clinical leadership in ostomy management, stomal therapy and wound care.

You will need:

  1. Highly developed clinical management and leadership skills and demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in accordance with best practice standards in the specific areas of ostomy and wound management, utilising a high degree of independent decision making.

    2. Proven high-level organisational ability, problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously to achieve specific outcomes. 

    3. Ability to identify the learning needs of patients, carers and staff in relation to ostomy and wound management and the ability to             develop, deliver and evaluate education activities that will meet those needs.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 40 hours per fortnight, commencing from 13 July 2026 until 2 April 2027. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
