About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join our dedicated Paediatric Services team. This advanced practice role provides clinical leadership, expert advice, and care coordination for infants, children, and their families with complex healthcare needs across the continuum of care.
You will play a critical role in driving excellence in paediatric care, influencing practice, and improving health outcomes through evidence-based care, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will:

Deliver Advanced Clinical Care - Plan, coordinate, and provide advanced care management for infants and children with complex needs.

Provide Expert Guidance - Offer specialist clinical advice, direction, and support to staff, stakeholders, and internal/external service providers.

Drive Best Practice - Promote critical thinking, research, and continuous quality improvement to support evidence-based care within and beyond the health service.

Strengthen Care Networks - Act as a key point of contact for patients and primary care providers and build strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Lead Multidisciplinary Collaboration - Facilitate team-based decision-making to enhance patient outcomes within paediatric services.

Ensure Compliance and Standards - Develop and promote clinical practices aligned with professional, legislative, and organisational requirements.

Lead Quality & Safety Initiatives - Coordinate quality improvement activities, including adverse event management and incident review processes.

Support Workforce Development - Support education programs that strengthen paediatric care capabilities and professional development.

Champion Change and Innovation - Lead and implement change management strategies to improve clinical practice and service delivery.

Enhance Service Integration Across Tasmania - Build relationships across healthcare providers to expand access and improve paediatric service delivery statewide.

Promote Safety and Wellbeing - Actively participate in Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, ensuring continuous improvement systems are in place.

Additional Duties - Undertake additional responsibilities consistent with the role, experience, and classification level.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join us!
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligibility

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Current Working with Children Registration.
