The Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined are of practice:

  • Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day-to-day patient care activities, including patient flow.

The Ward

  • Ward 5B is a 32-bed surgical ward. We care for a range of surgical patients undergoing Orthopaedic, Plastic & Reconstructive, Gynaecological, General, Breast, and Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery.
  • The staff on 5B believe in a multidisciplinary team approach to health care that places the needs of our patients and their families/carers first through communication and collaboration to facilitate a safe discharge from hospital. 
  • We provide a supportive environment for learners and place a heavy focus on teamwork to assist in facilitating the needs of our busy surgical ward.

Details of appointment

Permanent part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 36 hours per fortnight, as soon as you can join our team!

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
