The Team

This position offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity to contribute to health and community care through collaborative teamwork across four sites. You’ll work within multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong partnerships with the Huon and Kingborough Councils, as well as other key stakeholders, all committed to enhancing care, wellness, and reablement outcomes in partnership with our consumers.

The role provides administrative support to the Huon and Kingston Community Nursing teams, assists Bruny Island Community Nursing and Community Health Centre as required, and supports consumers, community members, and healthcare professionals attending our facilities or community appointments.

Located in the scenic Huon Valley—renowned for its National Parks, World Heritage areas, and the picturesque Huon River and D’Entrecasteaux Channel—our Huon and Cygnet Community Health Centres work closely with all services in the region.  Together, we are dedicated to delivering excellence in healthcare and achieving improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the broader Tasmanian community.

 

The Role

As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality health services, the Administrative Assistant plays a key role in ensuring effective and efficient administrative operations. Working as part of a small, supportive administrative team, this position provides day-to-day administrative and business support to community nursing and facility users.

The role contributes to the continuous improvement of administrative processes, helping ensure the smooth delivery of services and a positive experience for both staff and community clients.

You will need

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality administrative support in a busy, customer-focused environment. 
  • Strong computer skills and experience using a range of office software packages, databases and information systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise work, meet deadlines and work effectively with minimal supervision. 
  • Sound judgement, initiative and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Details of appointment

Multiple fixed term, casual positions, working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months. 

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$68,854 to $73,947 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
