About the Role
Under the general supervision of the Communications Consultant, the Communications Officer - Digital and Publications will plan and implement social media and other digital engagement strategies and campaigns for the Commissioner, as well as lead the preparation of high-quality graphic design outcomes, digital and printed, including child-friendly documents. They will assist in the development and publication of effective and compelling content through a wide variety of digital platforms to support the Commissioner’s advocacy, monitoring and engagement work, benefiting, particularly, children and young people.
Period of Appointment
Ongoing - Start date of 1 July 2025

Essential Requirements
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
- The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1 Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences
2 Identification check
3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, media or other relevant discipline.
- Experience preparing child-friendly publications and resources.
