Job description:

As a senior professional manager, specialist or practitioner, coordinate the functions of a section or library and/or archival service and contribute directly to the formulation of agency policies. Provide high level advice and support to the Supervisor in relation to the development, implementation and evaluation of activities and strategies in a state-wide context. Develop, implement, and evaluate plans, programs, and procedures to support the effective and efficient provision of library, archives and information resources.

Duties

As a senior professional manager, specialist or practitioner, coordinate the functions of a section or library and/or archival service and contribute directly to the formulation of agency policies.
Provide high level advice and support to the Supervisor in relation to the development, implementation and evaluation of activities and strategies in a state-wide context. Develop, implement, and evaluate plans, programs, and procedures to support the effective and efficient provision of library, archives and information resources.

Period of Appointment

Ongoing - Start date of 3 March 2025

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Degree or diploma in librarianship or information studies at a recognised university or college of advance education or a postgraduate diploma in librarianship or information studies.
  • Eligibility for admission to Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
