Job description:
To provide the Office of the Implementation Monitor (OIM) with high level support and strategic advice regarding communications and stakeholder engagements, and to develop and implement communication strategies for OIM's programs with a focus on appropriate engagement with vulnerable or lived experience stakeholder groups.

Duties
- Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies for the OIM’s programs and activities.
- Prepare engaging, high quality, consistent and accurate speeches, media releases, newsletter articles, multi-media productions and social media messaging for the Implementation Monitor.
- Prepare publications such as reports and promotional resources, and ensure that the associated activities of gathering content, quality assurance, brand management, printing and distribution, and the procurement of external consultants are managed appropriately and delivered within agreed parameters.
- Manage the OIM’s web presence and digital communication activities, ensuring the content is current, accurate and appropriate for the target audience(s).
- Undertake research, analysis and problem solving of complex issues, and provide authoritative advice, recommendations and solutions.
- Coordinate the OIM’s stakeholder engagement strategy and rollout.
- Foster meaningful and ongoing relationships with Tasmanian Aboriginal people and organisations, people with lived experience of child sexual abuse and children and young people. Ensure appropriate communication material is prepared for these stakeholder cohorts.
- Establish collaborative partnerships and effective relationships across government and with key stakeholders, including local and national media representatives.
- Provide day-to-day practical guidance, professional leadership and support to members of the team, promoting a positive and engaging workplace.
- Where possible keep abreast of and update the OIM team on developments in Tasmania’s child safety space, including media coverage and sector change.
- Support internal communications mechanisms, in consultation with the Director.
- As required from time to time, perform other tasks relevant to the skills and experience of the position classification.
Essential Requirements
- A current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
Desirable Requirements
- A tertiary qualification or professional background in journalism, communications, graphic design or marketing.
