Job description:

The Client Devices Manager is responsible for the management, delivery, security, and lifecycle oversight of various end user technology services across the organisation. This role leads a team responsible for client endpoints, collaboration technologies, telephony, video conferencing, specialised operational equipment, and the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), ensuring services are secure, reliable, cost effective, and aligned to business and operational needs. The role also provides contract and vendor management oversight to ensure value for money, compliance, and continuity of client device services.

Duties

The Client Devices Manager is responsible for the management, delivery, security, and lifecycle oversight of various end user technology services across the organisation. This role leads a team responsible for client endpoints, collaboration technologies, telephony, video conferencing, specialised operational equipment, and the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), ensuring services are secure, reliable, cost‑effective, and aligned to business and operational needs.

The role also provides contract and vendor management oversight to ensure value for money, compliance, and continuity of client device services.

Essential Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks 

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:

  • Arson and fire setting;
  • Sexual offences;
  • Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
  • Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
  • Making false declarations;
  • Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
  • Malicious damage and destruction to property
  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising. 

Desirable Requirements

  • Qualifications, or an equivalent level of experience, in a relevant technical discipline, along with demonstrated management experience, are highly desirable.

  • Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft SCCM, Intune, Recast and ITIL V3/4 methodology would be an advantage
