Duties
Undertake automotive electrical work, maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance of the operational and support vehicle fleet. Assist in the installation, commissioning and decommissioning of operational and support vehicles.
About the Role
Located in Cambridge, Southern Tasmania, this fixed term full time Technician position, within the Auto Electrical unit offers the opportunity to undertake automotive electrical work, maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance of the operational and support vehicle fleet. This position will complete auto electrical installation, commissioning and decommissioning of operational and support ;
- Heavy diesel trucks and vehicles
- Mobile plant and machinery
- Emergency service operations.
You will
- Assist with design, build, maintenance and repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Use tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop systems safely
- Follow workplace safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Develop skills across multiple disciplines

Essential Requirements
Pre-Employment Checks
The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Desirable Requirements
- A current unrestricted manual Drivers Licence.
- Forklift licence (or willing to obtain)
- Medium / Heavy Vehicle Licence (or willing to obtain)
- Practical experience working within the automotive industry.
