Job description:

Undertake a diverse range of taxation, grant, and rebate assessments, along with compliance activities within the State Revenue Office. Apply strong legislative interpretation skills, sound judgment, and effective output management to ensure accurate and efficient revenue collection and taxation compliance. Contribute to achieving organisational objectives in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

About You

Treasury is looking for a motivated person to join our Revenue Branch to undertake taxation, grant and rebate assessments and compliance activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving the wellbeing of Tasmanians, by engaging in the efficient administration of Tasmania’s taxation, grant and rebate laws.

You will be someone experienced in interpreting legislation and have strong analytical and communication skills. Working as part of a small, dedicated and professional team, your success requires the ability to analyse complex issues, clearly communicate to stakeholders, and demonstrate initiative.

This role suits someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is organised, proactive, and makes sound decisions.

About the Branch

The Revenue Branch manages collection of taxation for the State. The branch administers a number of grants, determines taxation objections and ensures that taxpayers are compliant with State taxation and grant legislation.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part time hours.

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
